NB Regulation Summary
New Brunswick municipalities adopt cross-connection control bylaws under the Municipalities Act, SNB 2017, c 20. Annual testing of backflow preventers is mandatory for all commercial and institutional properties connected to municipal water systems. The National Plumbing Code of Canada (NPC 2020) is adopted provincially and governs the technical requirements for backflow prevention assemblies.
